Check that Tikra works
Names in bold such as Home, Orders, Platforms, Events, Incidents, Billing and Help are pages and buttons of the Tikra app. You open it from Apps in your Shopify admin.
With server-side tracking for Shopify, Tikra sends real paid online orders. Test orders are recorded, but they never reach your live platform accounts, so they cannot show that sending works. Use these three checks instead.
1. Send a test event
Open Platforms and the card of the platform.
- Google Analytics 4: click Send test on the card, then Send test. Tikra sends a sample purchase to Google's validation server. It checks the format and never appears in your reports. Your next real order in GA4's Realtime report is the real check.
- Meta: in Meta Events Manager, open Test events and copy the test code. In Tikra, click Send test on the Meta card, paste the code into Test event code and click Send test event. The card says "Meta received the test event", and the event appears in Events Manager as ConnectionTest. It does not count as a sale.
2. Place a test order (optional)
With Shopify's test payment gateway on (Settings > Payments), buy something in your store. The order appears on the Orders page within a few seconds with the Test badge. Each live platform shows it as Skipped with "Test order, and this destination is not in test mode." It is not counted on Home. This shows that Tikra receives your orders.
3. Wait for the first real paid order
When a customer pays online, the order appears on the Orders page and each platform shows Sent, with the time. Meta starts in the check before sending: until Meta goes live, its orders show Skipped with "Held during the check before sending" (see Turn off the store's own tracking). Once a paid order has gone out, Home no longer says "Ready. Waiting for the first paid order."
