Notifications and contacts
Names in bold such as Home, Orders, Platforms, Events, Incidents, Billing and Help are pages and buttons of the Tikra app. You open it from Apps in your Shopify admin.
Tikra sends emails to the addresses on your Account page. This article explains who gets them, which emails they are, and how to add, confirm and remove an address.
Who gets the alerts
Open Account in the menu. Under Notifications you see every address that can get alerts for your store. The store owner's address from Shopify is there from the start. On a WooCommerce store, the address you signed in with is there.
An address gets an email when something needs your attention:
- Incidents: orders are not reaching a platform, or the match rate fell.
- Key errors: a platform refused a key, or a key stopped working.
- Trial and plan endings: your free trial or plan is about to end.
- The monthly store-event cap: your store reached its monthly limit of store events.
- WooCommerce silence: a WooCommerce store has sent us nothing for a while.
Add an address
- Go to Account.
- Under Add an address, type the Email address. The Name (optional) helps you tell addresses apart.
- Click Add and send confirmation.
We send a confirmation email to the new address. The address starts getting alerts once its owner opens the link in that email and confirms. Until then it shows Waiting for confirmation and gets nothing.
The link works once and for 3 days. If nobody uses it, the address stays on the list as Waiting for confirmation and gets nothing. Click Send confirmation again for a new link, or Remove to free a slot.
A store can have 5 addresses at most, and addresses that wait for confirmation count. Remove one to add another.
The questions on Home after you subscribe
When you subscribe, an owner or an admin sees the last step of the Set up Tikra guide on Home, About your store (optional). Click Answer the questions to open two or three questions, which are optional. You can answer them or click Skip. Skipping changes nothing, and the step does not come back. Stores that already had a plan, plans by agreement and plans that are ending do not see it.
- How often should we email you the report? This appears when your store gets the weekly report and your own address is on the contact list. Inside Shopify it appears when the store owner's address from Shopify is on the list, the question is How often should we email the report to the store owner? and the answer is for that address. Your answer is the same setting as the one on the Account page.
- Where do your ads run? Tick the platforms you use. We keep this as a note on the Platforms page. Nothing gets connected.
- Email address of someone else who should get alerts (optional). This is the same as adding an address on the Account page. We send a confirmation email, and the address starts getting alerts once it confirms.
You can change the report rhythm and the alert addresses on the Account page. The answer about your ads is only a note for the Platforms page.
Send the confirmation again
If the email did not arrive, click Send confirmation again next to the address. Check the spam folder first. You can send it once every 10 minutes for each address. A store can send 10 confirmation emails an hour in all. The newest link is the one that works.
Turn alerts off for an address
Untick Send alerts to this address. The address stays on the list and shows Muted. Tick it again to turn alerts back on.
At least one confirmed address always keeps getting alerts. If you try to mute or remove the last one, Tikra says so and changes nothing. Confirm or add another address first.
The store owner's address from Shopify cannot be removed. Untick Send alerts to this address to mute it.
Remove an address
Click Remove next to the address and confirm. It stops getting alerts at once.
Not receiving
Not receiving means the address bounced or marked one of our emails as spam. We stop sending alerts to it, so it does not hurt delivery for the others. Add another address that works, then remove this one.
The weekly report
If your store has a paid plan, Tikra also sends a short report to each confirmed address. It covers the last 7 days: your paid online orders, and for each platform how many of them were sent and accepted, with the share of orders. It counts the orders not sent because the buyer did not allow marketing or because of your own rules. It also lists incidents of the week and, once there are enough orders, how many orders carry an email and a browser ID. When nothing needs a look, it says so. The numbers are the ones on your Home page. It holds no buyer data. It is a message about the service you pay for, so it never contains an offer, a price or an upgrade link.
Every report has a Stop this report link. It stops the report for that address only. Incident alerts keep coming to it, and offers or the free summary are stopped separately. Each report also carries the link Change how often you get this report. It opens a page, without signing in, where that address can choose every week, every 2 weeks, about once a month or no report. The choice does not change alerts about problems. Anyone who can edit contacts can also change it under Account, then Notifications, for each confirmed contact.
The before and after report
About a week after Tikra starts sending your orders, Tikra makes a before and after report. For each platform it shows how many of your paid online orders the platform counted by itself in the 30 days before, and how many Tikra delivered in the first 7 full days after. It holds counts only, no buyer data. When the report is ready, each confirmed address that gets alerts can receive one email with a line per platform and a link to the report. It is a one-time email, sent once when the report is made. An address that chose no summary does not get it.
The link opens the report in any browser, without signing in, for 30 days. Anyone who has the link can read it, so share it with care. Open Home in Tikra to get a fresh link: the report card there opens it in a new tab. The report is deleted with the rest of the store's data when the app is uninstalled, and its link stops working.
API token for your order proof
An API token lets a tool read your order records as a CSV file. It is read-only and never includes customer details.
The store owner and admins make a token on the Account page, under API tokens. Click Make token and give it a name you will recognize, like "Agency export". Copy the token at once: it is shown one time only. A store can have 5 active tokens. Revoke stops one at once, and any tool that uses it stops working.
Customer privacy requests
The same Account page has a Customer privacy requests section. On a Shopify store, Shopify passes on the request when a customer asks your store for the data it holds about them. Tikra puts what it holds into a file, and the store owner downloads it there. The section is empty until a request comes.
